The Department of Space and Application (DSA) of University of Science and Technology Hanoi (USTH) invites you to come to our seminar, topic: “Reflectance of wet soils in the solar domain: contribution and limitation of physical models”.
- Speaker: Stéphane Jacquemoud (Université de Paris / Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris)
- Time: 16h, Monday, March 28th, 2022
- Place: Room 602, USTH Building (A21), 18B Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay, Hanoi

ABSTRACT
Wet soils are observed to be darker than dry soils. The presence of water on the surface of the soil affects its reflectance not only in the visible, but also in the near-infrared and shortwave infrared, where water strongly absorbs light. By studying the light reflected by a wet soil, it is possible to predict its water content. This lecture is a state of the art of methods and physical models used to estimate soil water content by remote sensing in the solar domain.
We are looking forward to welcoming all those who are interested in attending.
