INTRODUCTION
Space sciences and Space technology are the symbols of a high-developed technology based country. In the XXI century, they provide the best access to a powerful and sustainable economy. In Vietnam, the State is pushing up the development process of the Space industry, in order to contribute to the public economic benefits and also to assess the sovereignty of Vietnam in space, according to the position of a country with ninety millions inhabitants.
Vietnam Academy of Sciences and Technology (VAST) promotes, under the patronage of the Government of Vietnam, the development of space institutes in Vietnam: Vietnam Space Technology Institute (STI), Vietnam National Satellite Center, the acceleration of Space technology quarter project at Hoa Lac High-tech Park. In 2012, Space and Applications Department has been created by the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi.

The master “Space and Applications” of USTH is a unique formation in Vietnam of future scientists who will participate in the next decade to the development of space technology and sciences in Vietnam. The Master degree is co-accredited by Vietnam and France. Since 2016, the master program has changed its name to “SPACE: Earth Observation, Astrophysics, Satellite Technology”. The diploma is delivered by USTH and one of the four French universities participating to the master: Observatory of Paris, University of Montpellier, University of Paris Diderot, University of Paris-Est Créteil.
